Witte Krant. Nummer 9
Amsterdam: Witte Krant, Publisher. Tabloid. Good. Item #022842
no date, circa 1968. Tabloid newspaper format. 16 pp. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Almost all text in Dutch. Single issue of this underground newspaper from Amsterdam often associated with the Provo group, although perhaps in inspiration only. Witte Krant provided coverage of the counterculture and hippie scene in the Netherlands and worldwide, with some coverage of political events. The paper blended juxtaposed imagery and text with editorial satire much the way the Provos or Situationists would do. This issue looks at the hippie scene in San Francisco, interviews the Filipino artist David Medella, etc. GOOD condition. Offsetting and toning along the edges. Largish jagged tear to the lower front cover, with some associated creasing. Some creasing and wrinkling present.
