Mini-Skirt Mob!! The Brood, Valkyries, das Furlines Maneaters at Green Street Station Concert Flyer.

Jamaica Plain, MA: Green Street Station. Unbound. Very Good. Item #022798

no date, perhaps late 1980s. Single sheet, lime green paper stock. 8 ½ by 11 inches. Images of the Furlines and Maneaters. A flyer for two shows at the legendary Boston club, Green Street Station. It appears the shows featured all women rock/punk rock acts. June 27th featured The Brood and Valkyries and June 28th featured das Furlines and Maneaters. It is unclear if the Mini Skirt Mob title referred to the band itself, or the gathering of these bands. The band with perhaps the most fame was das Furlines. Das Furlines was an all-woman punk polka band that celebrated German culture, although with a fair bit of irony. They performed covers of the 1960s group, the Monks, as well as a few of their own songs. Primarily active from 1985 to 1990, they never released an album of their own, but did release a cookbook. They were profiled by People magazine in 1987 and were shown on a short-lived MTV program hosted by Andy Warhol. The venue, Green Street Station was a club in Boston from the mid 1980s to mid 1990s. It featured the first performance in Boston of Nirvana in 1989, and held many a Pixies show. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor fading.
