No place or date, perhaps circa 1970. Single sheet, sticker on backing. 1 7/8 inches square. A small sticker with a simple, but striking, design featuring prominently the Black Panther Party logo between Free Ericka in bold block letters. The sticker was presumable issued around 1970 in response to the incarceration of activist and Black Panther Party leader, Ericka Huggins. Huggins at the time led the New Haven branch of the Black Panthers, and after the killing of a member suspected of being an informant, Huggins, Bobby Seale and others were arrested for the murder. Both she and Seale were eventually freed without being convicted of the crime. GOOD condition. Glue backing appears to have aged and browned, resulting in a moderately foxed look to the sticker.
