Muhammad Speaks was a newspaper published by the Nation of Islam, founded by Elijah Muhammad and providing coverage of current events and news relating to African-Americans and the African-American community, ranging from international topics to covering the successes of school children in school. Many issues document the Civil Rights struggle, including police brutality and violent examples of white oppression. This issue with pieces by Elijah Muhammad; a profile of a young Black activist, Cynthia Howell; a piece on Black students at college and their perspectives; an article on Muhammad Ali's attempts to be able to fight again; news on Vietnam, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate toning to the paper, with minor wear along the extremities.
