Lonnie McLucas, A True Revolutionary. Free The New Haven 9. Free All Political Prisoners. Black Panther Party Handbill.

No Place: No publisher. Unbound. Very Good. Item #022655

No publisher place or date. Perhaps published by the Black Panther Party, circa 1971. Single sheet, orange red/white paper stock. 4 ? by 4 ? inches. Printed on a single side. Portrait of Lonnie McLucas present alongside the text. Lonnie McLucas was a member of the Black Panther Party, and was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder for his part in the killing of another Black Panther, Alex Rackley. It was alleged that Rackley was an FBI informant. He was tortured and killed by several members of the Black Panthers. McLucas and two others admitted to the crime, although 9 members of the Black Panther Party were charged with crimes relating to the killing. This included Bobby Seale, who was acquitted due to a hung jury. McLucas, despite admitting to his part, pleaded not guilty. Warren Kimbro and George Sams plead guilty and received reduced sentences after agreeing to testify against McLucas. This handbill refers to McLucas as a true revolutionary, perhaps indicating that the Black Panthers valued his solidarity to the organization. VERY GOOD+ condition. A hint of toning and edgewear.
