Tabloid newspaper format, single sheet, four pages. A somewhat obscure underground press publication issued by the Peace and Freedom Party (PFP). The PFP was founded in 1967 after dissatisfaction with the Democrats support of the Vietnam War and lackluster support of Civil Rights. It is mainly aligned with Socialist principles, and supports feminist, indigenous, LGBTQ+ and other rights. This issue features a smallish photo of Black Panther Party leader Eldridge Cleaver on the front cover, declaring his nomination as candidate for President of the United States for the Peace and Freedom Party. Includes news on the nomination and convention, a Black and white coalition, etc. GOOD condition. Several large jagged tears near the upper left corner along the hinge, affecting all pages. A few minor tears along the fore edge. Minor to moderate general toning. Some creasing. Faint horizontal fold crease present.
