Scram Appearing Tuesday July 19 With Schoolly D and Code Money at the Limelight Club in N.Y.C. Promotional Handbill

No Place: Scram, Presumed Publisher. Unbound. Very Good. Item #022039

No place or date, perhaps Philadelphia, 1988. Single sheet, 8 ½ by 11 inches, folded in half. A promotional piece for the Philadelphia based reggae/punk band Scram. The front contains a blurb about the upcoming concert with Schoolly D, while the interior and rear cover contain reviews of their album Stand Up! And positive commentary on the band itself. Perhaps most notable is the collaboration with hip hop pioneer Schoolly D and his DJ Code Money. The handbill itself says, "The world debut of a new musical movement: a rapper with a DJ with a band!" theoretically indicating that Scram backed up Schoolly D and Code Money on at least some of their songs. All three were from the Philly area. Schoolly D has been credited by Ice-T with being a large influence on the gangsta rap style of hip hop of Ice-T's. Concert records online for the Limelight did not include this particular line up, although they appeared rather incomplete for the 1980s. We surmise this concert was in 1988, based on record release and Tuesday being July 19 that year. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and wrinkling. Faint diagonal crease near the top right corner.

Price: $250.00
