The Kitchen Video Festival June 1972 Event Flyer
New York: The Kitchen at the Mercer Arts Center, Publisher, 1972. Unbound. Good. Item #021990
Single sheet, with a design slightly reminiscent of a television screen. Approximately 8 ½ by 11 inches. Printed on a single side only. A calendar style piece listing daily events for the month of June for the Kitchen Video Festival. Mostly consists of listing which artist would be showing when. The Kitchen, an avant-garde and experimental art venue, was originally established in 1971. It was created by Steina and Woody Vasulka, artists who decided to rent the kitchen of the Mercer Arts Center to show their work. They then collaborated with others to open the space to other artists with a show held on June 15, 1971. We believe this flyer was from their first ever Video Festival. GOOD condition. Moderate offsetting across most of the piece. Some wrinkling and creasing, including creasing to the corners.
