Hippie Scene. The Now Thing Vintage Postcard
Boston, MA: Bromley and Company, Publisher. Unbound. Very Good. Item #021940
no date, presumed 1967. Single sheet, 6 by 4 inches. A color photo postcard depicting three scenes from San Francisco around the Summer of Love. This includes two men near a large sign for the counterculture newspaper, The San Francisco Oracle. Swirly hippie flowers frame the photos. Postcard printers tried to capitalize on the rise of the hippie and the Summer of Love by printing a variety of postcards documenting, or riffing on, the counterculture scene. These were popular with tourists to San Francisco at the time. VERY GOOD condition. Minor bumping and scuffing along the edges. Reverse a bit toned.
