No place or date, presumed early 1970s. 1 ¾ inches in diameter. Safety pin style back. Black background with white lettering and an illustration of two hands in shackles. A pinback promoting the Patriot Party, a short lived socialist organization founded in 1970 after a split with the Young Patriots Party. The Patriot Party sought to organize poor white youth in the Appalachia South and Northwest, among other locations, with the hope of demonstrating that capitalism led to their situation, and that they may abandon racist views and unite with other organizations against the US government. The Patriot Party implemented many of the same social programs that the Black Panther Party did. It disbanded by the mid 1970s after intense pressure from the FBI. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor toning to the face. Some tarnishing to the reverse.
