Cleveland Tribunal. Vol. 1 No. 2. November 22, 1967

Cleveland: Cleveland Tribunal, Publisher, 1967. Tabloid. Good. Item #021544

Side folding tabloid newspaper. 8 pp. Illustrations and photos throughout. An early underground newspaper from Cleveland, Ohio, preceded slightly by the Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle. Combining retro steampunk style fonts and layout, the paper embraced both radical politics and counterculture, while claiming it was providing a neutral forum for the presentation of ideas. On a whole, the paper does seem reminiscent of the Buddhist Third Class Junkmail Oracle. Of note in this issue is a piece by Cleveland poet and publisher, d.a. levy, titled "Buddis( T )rip." Front cover presents a "Black nationalist" perspective on the election of Carl Stokes as mayor of Cleveland. GOOD condition. Moderate toning, with offsetting along the edges. Paper a bit brittle, with some chipping and tearing along the fore edge. Minor soiling.

Price: $100.00
