Tavern Guild of San Franciso 2nd Annual Circus Circus May 14, 1972 Pinback
San Francisco: Tavern Guild of San Francisco, Producer, 1972. Unbound. Very Good. Item #021509
1 ½ inches in diameter. Yellow background with red lettering. Safety pin style back. Small slug on the curl. A pinback issued to commemorate an event, "Circus Circus" held by the Tavern Guild of San Francisco on Mother's Day, May 14, 1972. Research did not find what this event was, but we presume it may be similar to their more well known event, the Beaux Arts Ball. The Tavern Guild of San Francisco was the first gay business association established in the United States. Founded in 1963, the guild worked to protect gay owned bars from discrimination, police raids and harassment, as well as help workers who became unemployed because of shut downs due to raids. The guild disbanded in 1995. VERY GOOD condition. Some "tarnishing" to the revers.
Price: $50.00
