no date, circa 1866 to 1869. Thick cardboard stock. 7 by 3 ½ inches. No. 21 in Good's Eastern Series. Stereoview of the Tomb of Rachel, "an authentic site 'a little way' from Bethlehem." Rear quotes a passage from the Bible describing the burial and location of the tomb of Rachel. Frank Mason Good was an English photographer best known for his stereographic views of the Near East, taken over the course of four trips in the 1860s and 1870s. Side by side photos. GOOD condition. General toning, some fading and soiling. A hint of foxing.
