A work issued to accompany a 1976 exhibition of the artwork of Bass Otis (1784-1861), perhaps best known for the hundreds of portraits painted during his lifetime. This with several critical essays on his life and work. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and light edgewear to the covers. Owner's gift inscription on the first endpaper, along with the signature and inscription from one of the authors.
