Pamphlet, lacking any wrappers or covers. Presumably disbound from a larger work, given the remains of leather along the spine. 84 pp. A printing of Hannah Cowley's most popular play. Written as a comedy of manners, the play broke ground by featuring strong female characters who were smart and somewhat outspoken. GOOD condition. Uneven toning to the paper, with very minor scattered foxing and spotting. Heavy offsetting and toning to the rear page. Title page almost detached from the rest of the text block.
