Color illustrated paper covered boards. 52 pp. Black and white illustrations by Margaret Johnson throughout, all present as called for. An obscure children's book by Margaret Sidney, noted for her Five Little Peppers series. That series did feature a character, Polly Pepper, so it's plausible this is based on that character, although the last name is not ever mentioned. This book follows Polly and her heroics. FAIR condition. Uneven fading and toning to the covers. Minor to moderate soiling, staining and scuffing to the covers, with heavy scuffing and wear to the extremities, spine and hinges. Fore edge corners perhaps lightly nibbled, with some loss. A few child's doodles to the rear cover. Large dark stain to the upper corner of all the pages in the interior, perhaps some sort of oil. Text block mostly detached from the binding, tenuously holding on. Some writing on the endpapers. Minor toning to the text block.
