Providence, RI: Ackerman-Standard Company, Printer, 1953. Hard Cover. Good. Item #019765

Number 136 of 250 copies printed. Illustrated paper covered boards. 14 pp. Appears signed by the compiler on the last blank endpage, with an inscription crossed out. A printing of a journal perhaps kept by the unnamed cooper of the whaling ship Sharon, of Fairhaven, recalling the brutal beatings members of the crew received at the hands of the captain, with one member (an indigenous person from the South Pacific) beaten to death. This led to a mutiny, in which the captain himself was killed. GOOD+ condition. Minor uneven toning and light soiling to the covers. Slight bowing to the boards. Owner's name on the title page.

Price: $75.00
