East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with the usual counterculture, drug and protest pieces, as well a centerfold photo spread on protests in Washington DC. With comix by Vaughn Bode, Kim Deitch and others. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. Mailing label on the upper front cover.
