Illustrated wraps. Folio. Apparently disbound from a bound volume. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Single issue of this journal with the usual news, political commentary, etc. Present are two pages devoted to the work of Doctor Horace Green, who specialized in treating throat and lung diseases. The article has large illustrations of his instruments and a procedure, as well as illustrations of the lungs and throat, and provides an account of treatments used by Doctor Green in his own words. Doctor Green is considered a pioneer in the field of treating the lungs and throat. At the time of this publication his work caused some controversy, mostly which appears to have been professional jealousy. Also included is a short, graphic account of the murder by a mob of people of an African American man in Troy, Kentucky. GOOD condition. Haphazard horizontal fold crease present. Scattered staining along the foredge, with minor scattered foxing throughout. Extremities a bit frayed. Two small binding holes present along the spine edge.
