Side folding tabloid format newspaper. 16 pp. Black and white illustrations throughout. Single issue of this underground newspaper embracing radical, left wing and socialist causes (with a Marxist-Leninist bent). Originating as the Temple Free Press at Temple University it evolved from a college newspaper to a radical paper under the editorship of Bill Baggins. This issue with several pieces by Lynn Smith, a member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Black Panther Party, highlighting unsanitary conditions at a local hospital, as well as unsafe work conditions at a local plant where a man lost four fingers; also present is a statement by the Black Panther Party pushing back against assertions its center did not serve children, (along with a small ad for their free breakfast program); several pieces look at pacifism and its adoption by liberals, maintaining pacifism is not the answer to revolution, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate toning to the paper. Horizontal fold crease present. Minor soiling.
