No publisher, place or date. (Miami Convention Coalition, Miami, 1972). Single sheet, 8 ½ by 11 inches. Printed on a single side only, with a large photo of George Jackson. A handbill promoting a rally being held at the start of the Republican National Convention in Miami in 1972. The event was held in memory of activist George Jackson who had been killed while attempting to escape from prison in August of 1971. Bobby Seale of the Black Panther Party, Jackson's lawyer John Thorne, Louis Kammack and Sean Keane were all scheduled to speak. Topics included political repression, police brutality, underemployment, substandard housing, inadequate care for the poor, etc. The rally was sponsored by the Malcolm X United Liberation Front, SCLC, Miami Conventions Coalition and Vietnam Veterans Against the War. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present. General toning, some faint staining and soiling present. General wrinkling to the piece. "Rides Need" in large magenta felt tip marker on the back.
