Loaded Vol. 2 No. 1. 9/27/71

Santa Cruz: Loaded Collective, Publisher, 1971. Wraps. Good. Item #018398

Side folding wraps. 36 pp., including covers. A few illustrations throughout. Small event leaflet laid in. Single issue of a zine style underground publication, produced at UC Santa Cruz. The Loaded Collective appears to have been a group of students at the University of California, Santa Cruz, perhaps also affiliated with student socialist organizations on the same campus. This includes Barbara Zheutlin, Stephanie Graham, Jeff Snyder, Mike Fox, Mike Rotkin, Bruce Dancis, Lorna Hall, and Vicki Bolam, according to Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History archive. The newsletter tackled various radical and left-wing subjects, including antiwar, political and social issues. This issue adopts a more zine-like aesthetic, with clip art, varying fonts and font colors, etc. Includes pieces on a counter-orientation for students at UC Santa Cruz, courtesy of Loaded; a look at women and history; an introduction to SCRAP (Santa Cruz Radical Action Project), etc. GOOD condition. Uneven toning, minor wrinkling and soiling to the covers. Extremities curled, with light fraying and creasing.

Price: $25.00
