Finely ribbed dark brown cloth. 716; 958 pp. First volume provides a report giving the list of names of soldiers in all the various New Hampshire regiments, companies, including heavy artillery, providing their residences, dates of muster and general remarks, all pertaining to the Civil War. These remarks include mentioning whether killed or died of disease, desertion, mustered out, etc. The second volume contains an extensive military history of the various New Hampshire regiments and militias from 1623 to 1861. This includes names of soldiers, leaders, various battle accounts, etc. The second part of the second volume provides regimental histories of regiments participating in the Civil War. GOOD condition. Ex-library with spine labels and interior pastedowns/markings. General fading to the cloth, with minor soiling and scuffing. Heavy chipping, tearing, splitting and fraying to the cloth along the hinges and spine tips, resulting in some loss of cloth to the backstrips. Text block solid, with toning to the paper and minor scattered soiling.
