A short work giving a biography, history and discussion of the legends surrounding Joseph Bara, who served as a French republican drummer boy in the French Revolution. He was killed by pro-monarchist forces at the age of 13, and subsequently became a martyr in the eyes of the public. GOOD condition. Minor curling to the piece. General toning. Some wrinkling and creasing. Chipping, tearing and minor loss along the fore edge. Date in pencil on the upper front cover.
