Friends #15. October 2, 1970

London: The T F Much Company, Publisher, 1970. Tabloid. Good. Item #017684

Side folding tabloid newspaper format. 28 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A single issue of this somewhat short-lived British underground newspaper. Originally formed by ex-British staffers of Rolling Stone, the magazine focused heavily on the counterculture aspect of the underground. The paper eventually changed its name to Frendz. This issue mostly covers the Isle of Wight Festival 1970, the last of three held on the isle, and considered the largest music event of its time (an estimated 600,000-700,000 people attended). The show featured Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, the Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Supertramp and many others. The paper reviews the various sets, as well as covering the actions of French anarchists and the White Panthers. Another lengthy article in this issue looks at the San Francisco Mime Troupe and its bran of guerrilla theater. GOOD condition. Paper toned. FR in ink on the upper front cover. Minor wrinkling. A few small tears along the extremities.

Price: $30.00
