1861-69. Bound volume, with printed wraps for each report. Disbound, lacking the hardcover binding that presumably once was present. Pagination varies. A collection of the first nine reports from the Artists' Fund Society of New York City, giving the names of officers, lists of members, reports on activities and meetings, financial reports, a printing of the constitution of the society, etc. The Artists' Fund Society of New York was a benevolent society established in 1859, with the goal of supporting artists and their families during times of hardship. It was created after the death of artist William Ranney, which at the time left his family destitute. The society merged with the Society of Illustrators in 1946. GOOD condition. Minor soiling and toning to the paper, some reports more toned than others. Remains of glue along the spine. Minor wrinkling.
