Stated fourth edition. Burgundy cloth. 422 pp. Illustrations and three fold out maps present. A history of the various early battles of the Revolutionary War, discussing somewhat briefly, the politics that led to the war, and describing the various encounters and skirmishes at Lexington and Concord. Most of the book is devoted to the siege of Boston and the Battle of Bunker Hill, with a look at defenses, tactics, British actions, etc. FAIR condition. Ex-library with spine labels, interior pastedowns, markings and stamping. Heavy fading to the spine, with uneven fading to the covers. Moderate to heavy scuffing. Minor soiling. Extremities worn, with the head and tail of the spine chipped, frayed and worn. Interior hinges cracked, with the front cover somewhat separated from the binding, although still holding on. Text block solid but toned, with minor scattered soiling. Fold out maps creased and wrinkled, with a large tear to the fold out map at page 133.
