The Fight for Civil Liberties for Foreign Students. The Case of Babak Zahraie. (Brochure)

Seattle: Committee to Defend Babak Zahraie, Publisher. Pamphlet. Very Good. Item #017291

no date, circa 1971. Yellow paper stock, 8 ½ by 11 inches folded into thirds. A pamphlet bringing attention to the plight of Babak Zahraie, an Iranian student in Seattle. Babak Zahraie faced deportation due to his alleged "subversive" activities of speaking against repression by the Iranian and the US governments. When those charges didn't stick, he was charged with a technical violation for traveling to Canada without proper papers. Babak Zahraie eventually went back to Iran, where he became the leader of the HKS (Socialist Workers' Party). The pamphlet describes the events leading to Zahraie's incarceration, how one can help, and affiliated organizations. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and wrinkling. Faint horizontal fold crease present.

Price: $25.00
