no date, 1970s. 17 by 22 inches. Thick paper stock. A poster advocating population control through voluntary sterilization, issued by the Association for Voluntary Sterilization (AVS). The AVS has been around since the 1930s, undergoing a variety of name changes. In its early years, there was some association between the organization and eugenics, but it shifted policies toward voluntary sterilization as a means of controlling population growth. It helped pioneer a new technique in vasectomies and is currently is known as EngenderHealth, working to promote women's health, including sexual and reproductive health. GOOD condition with some toning, minor soiling and several wrinkles/creases. A few small tears along the edges.
