Both were contracted to survey boundaries established by treaties between the US and Choctaw, Chickasaw, Creek and Seminole Native Americans. The claimants allege that they were harassed by hostile Native Americans while carrying out their work, thus the time and thoroughness with which they could do the work was affected. The committee saw it otherwise. GOOD condition. Historical society stamp on the rear cover. Minor to moderate toning. Some wear, chipping and creasing along the spine edge.
