Jet was noted for its documentation of the Civil Rights movement and the murder of Emmett Till. This issue with a piece on Angela Davis and her threatened dismissal from UCLA, with Davis asserting it was because she was a communist and Black; news on the firebombing of a Black owned home in a white neighborhood in Chicago, etc. Politics, sports and fashion also included.
