Side folding tabloid format newspaper, with a full front page photo of Malcolm X. 16 pp. Black and white illustrations throughout. Single issue of this underground newspaper embracing radical, left wing and socialist causes (with a Marxist-Leninist bent). The Temple Free Press originated at Temple University, evolving from a college newspaper to a radical paper under the editorship of Bill Baggins, changing its name to the Philadelphia Free Press. This issue two full page tributes to Malcolm X, one by Brother Amon-Ra, the other by Tony Thomas. Also present is a look at Swarthmore and its admission policy in regard to Black students; a look at the military and recruiting on campus; a review of Frank Zappa by Rick Rubin, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate toning to the paper. Horizontal fold crease present. Minor tearing along the fore edge.
