No publisher, place or date. Presumed US Government Printing Office, Washington DC: 1827. Pamphlet, disbound from a larger work. No wrappers. 3 pp. A short, detailed explanation of legal issues surrounding what, if anything, various Native American tribes may owe people in the territory of Missouri. It explains that chiefs and warriors of the Sac and Fox Nations of Native Americans approached US forces in 1813 and offered their services in war against the British. When this was refused, they offered their services to the British. General Clarke of the US persuaded the tribes not to take any side, and relocate during the war. The document alleges some Native Americans sought to re-occupy their lands, robbing some settlements in the process. Treaties are discussed, in order to establish if any were violated. GOOD condition. Minor to moderate toning. Some wear, chipping and creasing along the spine edge.
