Portland: The Hound and Horn, Inc, 1929. Wraps. Good. Item #016272
Wraps. Front cover illustrated by Rockwell Kent. A little magazine, originally focusing on Harvard related authors, but evolving by 1930 to a more general, Modernist scope. Hoffman states that it is "in a sense a 'continuation of The Dial,'" (Hoffman p. 285). This features "Second Thoughts about Humanism," by T.S. Eliot; poetry by Malcolm Cowley; "Training in Reasoning," by Charles Sanders Peirce "Training in Reasoning," and other work. GOOD condition. Minor to moderate soiling and toning to the covers. Spine soiled and darkened with chipping and loss of the wrapper due to the removal of the small wraparound band (no longer present).
