An issue of this New York based newspaper founded in 1968, known for its coverage of far left organizations and causes and militant stance on social and political issues. This featuring an article and centerfold photos of the Berkeley People's Park protests and story, published right before the fatal encounter between police and protesters on May 15th, in which one protester was killed and many more wounded by police actions. Also included are articles on rebel army servicemen (in the US armed forces), and an account of the bust of the play 'Che!' by Lennox Raphael due to obscenity charges; a full page illustration perhaps by the group Up Against the Wall/Motherfuckers; the comix "Ed Niemand Reality Agent;" a small piece urging the planting of pot everywhere; news on MC5 and the arrest of John Sinclair, bandmember and member of the White Panther Party. FAIR/GOOD condition. Front page with a very long, chipped tear along the horizontal fold. Minor to moderate browning. Minor foxing and soiling. Minor to moderate chipping and edgewear. Paper brittle.
