Pamphlet, disbound from a larger work. 12 pp. US government document discussing the conditions of the potential Native American reservation for the Apache in North Carolina, suggesting it is suitable for farming and of similar climate to Arizona. The letter documents the use of an Apache member, Chatto, as a scout by the Army in their search for Geronimo, only to then have his land confiscated and being held as prisoner along with Geronimo and other Apaches. Also included is a transcription of an interview between General Crook and Apache members Chatto, Ka-E-Te-Na, Noche, Natchez and other Chiricahua Apaches. POOR condition. While complete, the pamphlet pages have detached from each other and are loose. Heavy browning to the paper. Minor chipping along the extremities.
