Side folding tabloid format. 64 pp. A later issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with a piece on the potential for a trial of White Panther Party leaders Pun Plamondon, Jack Forrest and John Sinclair who were accused of plotting to bomb secret CIA offices on the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, campus; a lengthy article on women's liberation in Holland; a piece by Kathryn Paulsen on magic powers and witchcraft; a review of Neil Young; a review of Jim Morrison, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Minor wrinkling along the extremities. Faint horizontal fold crease present. Dn in pencil on the upper front cover.
