New York: Federation of Anarchists, Publisher. Wraps. Good. Item #015573
No date, circa 1965. Side stapled wraps. Oblong format. 8 ½ by 11 inches. 50 pp., including covers. A few illustrations throughout. First, and apparent only, issue of this journal with anarchist leanings, edited by Allan Hoffman. Hoffman was a poet who was highly regarded in New York anarchist circles, advocating strongly for communes and communal living in rural locations, living for a time in a commune in California (Veysey: The Communal Experience p. 184, 185). Of note in this issue is the manifesto style piece "Toward an Anarchist Manifesto: The Legacy of Domination," by Murray Bookchin, with contributions by Hoffman and Paul Spencer. Bookchin was another noted anarchist in the New York community, adhering to some of the old philosophy of anarchism while embracing newer anarchist thought as embodied by Hoffman and others. GOOD+ condition. General browning to the piece. Faint brown fingerprints on the rear cover. Minor curling at the corners.
