A US government document reporting in the Senate, on February 4, 1889, a plea from Oliver Ames, John G. Whittier, Mary Hemenway, Edward E. Hale, Francis Parkman and others, in which they request the preservation of the "ancient temple" of Casa Grande. The site became the first prehistoric and cultural reserve in the US in 1892, becoming a national monument in 1918. GOOD condition. Uneven heavy toning. Moderate chipping, creasing and tearing along the upper edge, with roughness along the spine edge.
