Illustrated wraps. Small digest format. 80 pp. Black and white photos throughout. Single issue of this long running journal devoted to African-American news, culture and entertainment. Jet was noted for its documentation of the Civil Rights movement and the murder of Emmett Till. This issue with a piece on Black Panther Party leader Bobby Seale being gagged and bound under the orders of a judge, accompanied by a full page drawing of Seale bound; an account of the firing of 49 Black teachers in Chicago who struck for better pay, etc. Politics, sports and fashion also included. GOOD condition. Mailing label on the front cover. General toning, minor soiling, scuffing and wrinkling. Some scuffing and curling along the extremities. A few pages creased in the interior.
