Side folding tabloid newspaper. 24 pp. Black and white photos throughout. Single issue of this long running underground newspaper from Berkeley, California, using a blend of counterculture, politics and sex ads to achieve success. This issue with several articles on the People's Park and plans for it, preceding the violent confrontation between police and protesters on May 15, in which one person was killed by police. Also included are articles on riots in Madison, Wisconsin, the denial of bail to Huey P. Newton of the Black Panthers, news on gay liberation struggles, an interview with underground comix artist S. Clay Wilson, etc. GOOD condition. Ex-library with a few mostly faint stamps in blue to the upper front cover. Moderate browning to the paper. Horizontal fold crease present. Minor chipping, tearing and wrinkling along the extremities.
