Illustrated wraps. 40 pp., plus ads in the rear. Papyrus was a long running little magazine founded in 1903, well regarded by critics and others, including Ezra Pound. Monahan was noted for his literary and social criticism of American and European culture and literature (see MacLeod, American Little Magazines of the Fin de Siecle, pages 260-262). Single issue, devoted to a biography and critical look at the life of the poet Thomas Moore by Michael Monahan. GOOD condition. General toning and minor soiling. Some wrinkling and creasing to the wrappers, heavy along the extremities. Wrapper split along the lower 3 inches of the spine. Faint dampstain along the bottom edge of the text. All pages unopened along the top edge.
