Side folding tabloid format. 36 pp. An issue of this pioneering underground newspaper, known as the Freep. Established in 1964, the paper was known for its coverage of the counterculture movement and radical politics, as well as its strong anti-Vietnam War stance. Financial and staffing troubles led to its eventual demise in 1978. This issue with news on the Pentagon Papers suspect Anthony Russo and his experiences in jail; an underground buyer's guide to not supporting major corporations; a small illustrated ad to a Black Sabbath concert at the Long Beach Arena on September 25, 1971 etc. GOOD condition. Moderate general browning. Paper slightly brittle. Minor wrinkling along the extremities, with a few small chips and tears. Horizontal fold crease present.
