With a few black and white illustrated plates, as well as a fold out frontispiece. A history of Durham House in London, serving as residence for various bishops, Catherine of Aragon and Sir Walter Raleigh, among others. This work discusses the history, construction and layout of the house, with a focus on the time period during which Sir Walter Raleigh lived there. GOOD condition. Vertical fold crease present. Some soiling, wrinkling and toning to the wrappers. Minor toning and creasing in the interior.
