Three page letter, with a special orders page, in original mailing envelope. Dated November, 1945. Includes a Third Marine Aircraft Wing Patch. Written by a lieutenant Walter H. Johnson, a member of the Third Marine Aircraft Wing during World War II. Johnson wrote this on his way home from the Pacific, mentioning that he received a head injury on the flight home, "ironic" because he survived the war. He alludes to Communists trying to "shoot" his "ass off in China" during his first, and only, combat mission of the war. Most of the letter details his schedule and expectations for his homecoming. He addresses the letter to "my darling stinky." GOOD condition. Mailing fold creases present. Minor toning and wrinkling.

Price: $25.00
