Grayish cloth. No jacket. 24 color plates plus a few black and white illustrations in the preface. ALL TEXT IN FRENCH. A primarily visual look at the paintings of Bonnard, preceded by a short critical preface on his work. Pierre Bonnard was a late 19th century-20th century French painter, known for his use of color applied with small brushstrokes. He was one of the founding members of Les Nabis, a group of artists whose work reflecting spiritual and symbolic themes (Wikipedia). GOOD condition. General fading to the book, with minor soiling. Minor scuffing. Extremities rather bumped, with some creasing to the boards visible as a result. Large chip and 2 ½ inch tear along the lower hinge of the spine, with some loss of cloth. Minor toning in the interior.
