No Place: No Publisher, 1917. Unbound. Good. Item #013707
Approximately 38 by 26 inches. An aerial photograph map depicting the Kalte Hohe, Fort Belleville and the Verdun Bahnhof (train station), including roads, buldings and land features. Printed Geheim, or Secret on the upper right corner. Reads "Diese luftbildkarte gehort zum Stellungsabschnitt und ist beu Truppenverschiebungen an den Nachfolger abzugeben." Presumably a map issued by or for the German Army during World War I. Fort Belleville, originally built in 1874 for fear of future German invasions in France, is a prominent feature on the lower center of the map. Also visible is an airship or Zeppelin/dirigible hall or base, near the bottom of the map. GOOD condition. Many horizontal and vertical fold creases. Some soiling, minor to moderate staining (mostly to the blank side) and browning. Minor chipping and creasing along the extremities.
