Printed wraps. With a few illustrations. Lengthy section of ads in the rear. A general interest magazine edited by Dio Lewis, with some items related to women's issues and health. This issue includes a study of inebriety in women; a new remedy for polygamy, examining the Mormon practice and its effects on women; exercises using rings (illustrated); a hygienic section with a variety of articles, etc. Diocletian Lewis was a leader in the temperance movement, as well as an advocate for homeopathy and inventor of the beanbag. He strongly supported exercise for women, and led movements in Ohio against saloons, organizing women into prayer groups (see Wikipedia). GOOD condition. Moderate darkening, soiling and some staining to the wrappers. Corners chipped and creased, with some loss to the corners of a few pages at the rear. Wrappers worn along the spine, with a few minor tears.
