An issue of this weekly newspaper style work, containing correspondence between James Monroe and other members of the US government and General Matthews, in Florida. This correspondence discusses the ceding of western territories of Florida held by the Spanish government and Governor Folk, to the United States, and what the US' terms were. With some mention of the Amelia Islands. Also included is lengthy news on the War of 1812, discussing US troop movement, various regiments from different states, etc. Also included is a lengthy section on naval action, discussing Commodore Rodgers' Squadron; detailing the events of the battle between the President and Belvidera; a detailed account of the destruction of the British ship Guerriere; a list of American Prizes, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate toning and fading. Some foxing and spotting to the paper. Covers wrinkled.
