Indianapolis: The Hollenbeck Press, 1898. Cloth. Poor. Item #013200
Green Cloth. 1633 pp., between the three volumes. Apparently originally intended as a two volume work, as stated at the beginning of the first volume, with the third volume issued in 1908 (and stating at this point, in three volumes). Illustrated plates throughout. A detailed biography and study of the life and actions of Susan B. Anthony, discussing in depth the cultural and political circumstances in which she rose to prominence as an activist and ardent supporter of women's rights, women's suffrage and equal rights for all. POOR condition. EX-LIBRARY with pockets, pastedowns and usual interior markings present. General fading and scuffing to the covers, with moderate soiling to the third volume, which also is bound in a slightly lighter green cloth. Cloth split, frayed and worn along the hinges. Bindings and text blocks cracked in several places throughout each, with a few pages DETACHED in volume 1. Volume three's text block is DETACHED from the binding, but whole, with the exception of the first endpaper.
